We want tenants to feel at home and be able to make changes that help meet their needs and improve their enjoyment of their home. 

Our Home Improvements and Alterations Policy explains how tenants can request permission to make improvements or alterations to their homes. This includes changes such as installing new fixtures and fittings, carrying out adaptations, decorating, or making other alterations that may affect the property.

The policy sets out which types of work require permission, how to apply, and the factors we consider when assessing requests. 

It also explains any conditions that may apply to approved works and outlines the responsibilities of both Habinteg and the tenant.

Our aim is to make the process clear, fair and consistent, ensuring that improvements can be made safely and appropriately while protecting the quality, accessibility and long-term condition of our homes.
