Environment Social and Governance

This report presents an initial assessment of our Environment Social and Governance (ESG) performance. 

It is our first self-evaluation exercise using the ESG framework and the start of Habinteg’s journey to a more thorough and integrated approach to tracking and improving our environmental, social and governance impacts.

It provides vital insight that will help us refresh and energise our overarching Sustainability Strategy. Also reflected in this report is our evaluation against the Sustainability Reporting Standard for Social Housing (SRS) which allows us to compare our relevant performance indicators to those of our peers and will ultimately help us benefit from the positive momentum that benchmarking can generate.

We believe that inclusive homes and communities are by their nature more sustainable, and that Habinteg’s core goal of a more inclusive society is a powerful force for a sustainable future.

We aim to become a more environmentally sustainable organisation and to help mitigate climate change while continuing to have a positive impact on our tenants and the communities in which they live, as well as championing the benefits of accessible and adaptable homes for all.
