Accessing information

We are committed to being open, transparent and accountable and ensuring that our tenants can access the information they need about their housing, and are empowered to hold us to account for the quality of housing and services we provide.

The Social Tenants Access to Information Requirement (STAIRs) scheme is a new standard introduced by the UK Government to enhance transparency for tenants of private sector social housing providers.

STAIRs will give our tenants easier access to information about our performance, governance, spending and decision-making.

How STAIRs works

There are two main ways you can access information: through information we publish and by requesting information that is missing.

Information we publish (Publication Scheme)

We publish important information about our services on our website, so you can find it easily without needing to ask. This is called our Publication Scheme. It brings key information together in one place, so you don’t have to search across different parts of our website.

Much of the information we are required to publish is already available on our website. Links to this information is provided below, we will continue to update our website with the latest information before the October 2026 implementation date.

But we won’t stop there, we will continue to seek ways to improve the information we provide to ensure that it reflects what tenants want to know and would really value your feedback. If you have suggestions to help us make this page better, please contact us by using the form on via our Complaints, compliments and feedback page

Information missing?

If you think we have not published information that should be available under our STAIRs publication scheme, please let us know by using the feedback form which can be found on our Complaints, compliments and feedback page.

You can make the request yourself or ask someone to act on your behalf. If you would like another person to represent you, please tell us who they are when you contact us.

We will review your request and normally provide a response within 30 calendar days. In some cases, where the request is more complex, it may take longer. If this happens, we will keep you informed.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of our review, you can take your complaint to the Housing Ombudsman Service. Information about how to do this will be included in our response to you.

Information you can request

If you can’t find the information you’re looking for, you will be able to ask us for it.

From April 2027, you can make an information request in writing (for example by email or letter). Although this service has not launched yet, we are preparing for it now.

Need information now?

If you need information and can’t find it on our website, please contact us at direct@habinteg.org.uk and we’ll do our best to help.
