Most of our general needs waiting lists are closed

Thank you for expressing an interest in applying for a Habinteg home.

The waiting lists for all wheelchair accessible homes for disabled people and their families are open for applications from households that need these properties.

The waiting lists for our general needs homes are generally closed due to high demand, however on occasion some areas will be opened up for applications. This might only be for a limited period and certain areas.

PLEASE NOTE: The following general needs waiting lists are now open for direct applications: Tunbridge Wells, Caterham, Middlesbrough (Hemlington and Whinney Banks), Stockton (Stockton and Yarm), Wakefield (Ossett), Leeds, Barnsley, Bradford and Hull.

Please use our property search to check that your area of choice is open for applications and that the property meets your needs, before completing an application.

We currently have no available wheelchair adapted properties, but once your application is processed you will be added to our housing waiting list.

If you're looking for a general needs home, please contact your local council’s housing department who now advertise our available properties. We have a number of general needs housing properties, including homes for people over 55, some of which are level access homes.

If you’re looking to move outside of your area, you can also find immediately available social housing, wheelchair accessible, retirement properties and some Private Rented Sector homes via Homefinder UK.

The national mobility scheme offers case management services that help homeless households and social housing applicants of member organisations find social housing across the UK.

We also occasionally advertise vacancies on our social media channels, so be sure to keep an eye on our Twitter page and our Instagram page.
