Report and get support for anti-social behaviour

We want every Habinteg tenant to feel safe and supported in their community, so if you or someone you know is experiencing Anti-social behaviour (ASB), we can tackle it together.

ASB is behaviour that unreasonably interferes with your right to enjoyment of your home and it can also affect your comfort and sense of safety.

It could include nuisance noise, intimidation, or misuse of shared spaces and can impact tenants, your neighbours, staff, or contractors.

Actions you can take

Sometimes people aren’t aware of the impact of their behaviour, so if a neighbour’s behaviour is causing you a problem, you can speak to them first if you feel it’s safe to do so.

If this isn’t possible, start keeping a record of the anti-social behaviour. This evidence will help us understand the situation and take appropriate action.

You can use this diary sheet to support your notes, then contact your Neighbourhood Co-ordinator to report the issue and explain what’s been happening.

If the person responsible does not live in your neighbourhood, or you witness a crime, you should contact the police. Call 999 in an emergency, or 101 for non-emergency situations.

Report ASB to Habinteg

If you’re unable to resolve the issue by speaking to the person yourself, you can escalate it to Habinteg.

The easiest way to report a neighbour’s anti-social behaviour or a hate crime incident is by using our online ASB form.

If you choose not to share your details when reporting an incident, we’ll still look into it and take action where possible. However, it can sometimes limit what we’re able to do if we can’t follow up with you for more information or evidence.

If you don’t feel comfortable reporting an incident/crime directly to Habinteg or the police, there are other ways to raise concerns. You can speak to organisations such as your local council or Citizens Advice Bureau, who can pass the information on and help you get the right support.

We’re always here to support you if you’re experiencing anti-social behaviour. You can find more detail about how we respond and work with you in our ASB guide and Reasonable Behaviour policy at www.habinteg.org.uk/asb.
