Last September, we heard from almost 400 tenants as part of our Building Together consultation, and we’re pleased to report that your feedback now sits at the heart of Habinteg’s new four-year Corporate Strategy 2026-2030, which has just been launched. Thank you to all of you who took the time to contribute your feedback and ideas.
While overall tenant satisfaction with Habinteg has improved by 10% over the last four years, reflecting steady progress in services, you were clear about where further improvement is needed.
The repairs service remains a top priority, particularly around response times and communication. You want clearer updates on planned works meaning better information on when key improvements such as kitchens, bathrooms, windows and doors will be completed.
Communication more broadly was highlighted as an area for improvement, alongside a strong desire for greater visibility of local staff within neighbourhoods.
You also emphasised the importance of improving local areas and taking robust action to tackle anti-social behaviour (ASB), so that communities feel safer and better supported.
A clear roadmap
The new corporate strategy provides a straightforward roadmap to deliver on these priorities.
Two key pillars, Tenant Driven and Great Homes, will guide our services, ensuring tenant voices shape decisions and that homes and neighbourhoods continue to improve. Changes are already underway across key areas.
In the North, we’re testing a new approach to repairs trialling in-house Repairs and Maintenance Technician roles with the aim of improving responsiveness and service quality. One operative is already onboard.
We’re also investing £390,000 over the next four years in cyclical works across our neighbourhoods nationwide, including work such as guttering repairs and external painting.
Looking ahead, tenants can expect improved repairs, greater staff visibility on estates, better local communication from Neighbourhood Teams and enhanced digital services. This includes a promise to significantly improve day-to-day services and to invest more in homes.
Your voice counts
We are proud that our network of engaged tenants has grown to 50 members over the last four years and as part of the new strategy we plan to double that number by 2030, giving more tenants the opportunity to shape our services and support delivery of our plans.
Frances Clarke, a Habinteg tenant from Pinner, London, says: “Habinteg has made huge progress since the last strategy was launched in 2022. As an involved tenant, I’ve had the opportunity to help shape this new strategy, which places the customer at the very heart.
“I look forward to working with Habinteg to make sure these ambitious commitments can be achieved.”
