Habinteg's Design Guide is a practical manual available that covers all the requirements for Lifetime Homes and offers guidance on wheelchair housing design.
42% of social housing households have a member with a disability or limiting long-term illness (MORI/Housing Corporation 2001). Reduced physical ability increases with age and by 2031 it is estimated that 25% of the population will be over 65 (National Statistics Social Trends 2003).
