At Habinteg, inclusion drives all that we do, be that our engagement with staff, the services we offer to tenants, the environments we create, and the homes we deliver. One in four people in the UK are disabled but most homes are designed to exclude them. We believe in designing homes and creating neighbourhoods that everyone can share and enjoy. We have 3350 homes across the country from Tyneside to Cornwall. We are the co-creators and champions of the Lifetime Homes Standard, sponsors of the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide, and we provide expert training and consultancy through our Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) in-house team.
We are seeking to appoint up to 3 board members. The board meets 8 times a year. One of the appointed members will be a customer ambassador. The customer ambassador ideally will bring first-hand experience of being a social housing tenant. As important will be their detailed understanding of the housing issues affecting disabled people.
All candidates must share our values of being agile, accountable, ambitious and attentive. You will offer non-executive director experience, with strategic foresight, strong business acumen, accomplished people skills, and enthusiasm for shaping our future. You will have the ability to engage with our key stakeholders and be an effective ambassador for Habinteg. You will be open to different viewpoints, yet sound when making decisions.
