Latest news on HabFix repairs

The HabFix project is designed to help us catch up efficiently with non-emergency repairs that we couldn’t complete during Covid-19 lockdown. Planning for the next phase of our HabFix repairs programme is now under way.

What you need to know about HabFix and reporting your repairs

  • The next HabFix scheme days will take place from 15 September 2020 - 6 November 2020. We aim to publish the HabFix timetable on our website early September.
  • We will start calling tenants from 1 September to find out what non-emergency repairs need completing. Or, if you prefer, you can let us know about your repair through the report a repair form on our website. Please note: we cannot guarantee work on your repair unless it is booked in 7 days prior to the HabFix day on your scheme
  • If you have an emergency repair, please report this by calling the customer service team by on  0300 365 3100 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm) or out of hours on 0345 601 3389.

Making sure your repair can be completed

Whilst there was positive feedback about the HabFix programme, some tenants were disappointed that repairs they reported on or close to HabFix day itself could not be completed.

Taking this on board, we are asking tenants to give us at least 7 days notice of repairs, so that our contractors can arrive prepared for the work that needs doing on the day. So, you can choose to either wait for our call or complete the report a repair form.

If you need to report a repair less than 7 days before your scheme’s HabFix day, please complete our report a repair form, and it will be logged and dealt with after the HabFix day.

Your safety is important to us

We also noted some tenants were conerned about risks related to Covid-19. We’d like to reassure you that the health and safety of tenants is Habinteg’s number one priority. All contractors are expected to wear appropriate protective equipment when working inside Habinteg properties. So if an operative needs to enter your home, they should be wearing a face covering and gloves as a minimum. If you have any cause for concern about Covid risk, please speak to your Neighbourhood Co-ordinator in the first instance.

If your Habinteg home isn’t part of a larger ‘scheme’ or estate, we’ll still phone you to ask about your repairs needs. We will then ask our contractors to liaise with you to arrange a convenient appointment for the work.

What about ‘local lockdowns’?

While these plans are in place, if local Covid restrictions are announced in your part of the country, we may need to re-plan our HabFix timetable, but we’ll keep you informed should this occur.
