Coronavirus restrictions: Reporting repairs and tiers

With England in a new four tier system of Covid 19 restrictions and with tiers varying across the country, the health and wellbeing of Habinteg tenants, staff and contractors remains our number one priority.

Government guidance: tier 4
For tenants living in tier 4 areas across London and large parts of the South East, there are now tighter restrictions in place and government guidance is that you must stay at home to help stop Covid 19 infections rising. In tier 4:

  • you cannot leave or be outside of where you live unless you have a reasonable excuse
  • you cannot meet other people indoors, including over the Christmas period, unless you live with them or they are part of your support bubble
  • you can only meet one person from another household outside of your home
  • these rules won’t be relaxed for Christmas.

Repairs in tier 4 areas
Given the latest government guidance, we’re taking the step to prioritise essential repair work only in tier 4 areas starting from today, 21 December 2020. This means that contractors will only carry out emergency repairs on Habinteg properties in tier 4 areas.

If you live in a tier 4 area and have an emergency repair to report, please call Habinteg Direct on 0300 365 3100 where a member of our Customer Services Team will help you with your enquiry.

This tier 4 guidance will be in place until further notice. We’ll continue to monitor government guidance closely and will provide further updates when and if things change on our website at www.habinteg.org.uk/covid19.

Tiers 1, 2, and 3
For tenants living in tier, 1, 2 or 3 areas, we are still able to carry out non-emergency repairs.  This of course might change if an area moves into tier 4.  The quickest and easiest way to report non emergency repairs is by completing the online form on our website at www.habinteg.org.uk/report-a-repair.

You can also call Habinteg Direct on 0300 365 3100, but please be mindful that we are at times experiencing high demand on this number because of the pandemic.

In all tiers, Habinteg staff and contractors will continue to carry out essential lettings and compliance checks. Health and safety is a top priority for us. All staff and contractors will be following Covid-secure guidelines and will only visit schemes if absolutely necessary.
