Tenant Listening Event provides plenty of food for thought for Habinteg

Our latest Listening Event on Monday 18 July saw 30 tenants spend two hours online with members of Habinteg’s senior management team, discussing a range of tenancy-related topics.

The event followed on from last year’s Shaping our Future consultation and was an opportunity to share how your feedback has helped to shape our new Corporate Strategy, Towards 2026.

Jai Forde, a tenant who attended the event, said: “I found the listening event very useful, insightful and enlightening. I learned about the improvements and updates that Habinteg are investing in and I got to meet the Heads of those departments.

“The online platform allowed me to be listened to and interact with Habinteg staff, and I heard about the issues and progress of other schemes around the country. This event gave tenants a voice beyond telephone interaction, and directly into Habinteg’s ears.”

Listening to you

Tenants heard from our CEO, Nick Apetroaie, Interim Head of Housing Paula Lock, Head of Asset Management, Michael Vickers, and our Customer Engagement Manager Ann Johal.

Topics under discussion included our investment plans, neighbourhoods, repairs services, anti-social behaviour, tenancy support and customer engagement. The group also answered questions from tenants.

Tenant Peter Clery said: "I was able to ask about how they select prospective tenants and the areas where they will develop new homes. The event also gave me the chance to see how the organisation is run, and hear the views of other customers.”

Our Director of Housing and Assets, Nic Bungay, chaired the event, while our Director of Social Impact & External Affairs, Christina McGill, and Board member Jon Knight also attended.

Tenants' views key

“Events like this are very important to ensure that we can listen directly to our customers’ feedback and hear about their experiences as Habinteg tenants,” said Nick Apetroaie.

“Input from tenants is key to helping us shape and improve our services. Although it’s clear that there are still some frustrations and challenges, I was glad to hear many positive remarks too, and that so many people are keen to get involved and work with us to help progress the positive changes that we’re starting to see.”

Thank you to all tenants who attended, and look out for a summary of the event discussion topics which we’ll publish on the website in the coming weeks.
