Take part in #ForAccessibleHomes week

Our annual #ForAccessibleHomes week takes place from 13-17 September and we need your help to spread the message about the importance of accessible homes.

The Covid-19 pandemic has shown us all how important our homes are, but for many people, having an accessible home is vital to staying independent and enjoying a good quality of life.

During our campaign week, we hope you’ll read, watch, share and comment on the content we publish across our digital channels, as well as write about your own accessible housing story and experiences on social media.

Why are you #ForAccessibleHomes?

We’d love you to tell us the difference living in an accessible home has made to your life and why you’re #ForAccessibleHomes. Here’s how you can tell us:

Record a short video

You may be #ForAccessibleHomes because it gives you room to move around freely, because it brings people together or because everyone deserves a home that’s right for them.

Whatever your reason, record a short video (up to 20 seconds) about why you’re #ForAccessibleHomes, by completing the phrase “I’m #ForAccessibleHomes because…”

Send your video to comms@habinteg.org.uk and we’ll post it on our Twitter feed, or you can post your video on your own Twitter feed, just be sure to mention

@Habinteg and include the #ForAccessibleHomes hashtag.

Take a photo

You can also tell us why you’re #ForAccessibleHomes by sending us a photo and a short message that completes the “I’m #ForAccessibleHomes because…” phrase to comms@Habinteg.org.uk.

We’ll add your photo to a frame, like we’ve done with Habinteg tenant Sam Renke’s photo (above right), and share it on social media.

Share your story in a blog

If you've got a #ForAccessibleHomes story you'd like to share as part of the week of action, please email your blog of 300-350 words to comms@habinteg.org.uk.

Share content on social media

Check out our Twitter, Instagram and Facebook pages to read about how Habinteg, our tenants and partners are celebrating the week.

Be sure to reshare and comment on any of our posts. We’d love to hear from you.
