Neighbourhood Coordinators support tenants and schemes

Did you know that every Habinteg scheme has its own Neighbourhood Coordinator?

Neighbourhood Coordinators are on hand to answer questions, help with your tenancy, and make sure your home and community are safe and welcoming.

They check in regularly, lend a hand when needed, and help make sure everything in your scheme runs smoothly.

The role

Your Neighbourhood Coordinator is your main point of contact for Habinteg on your scheme.

After a tenant moves in, they stay in touch throughout the tenancy, respond to questions, offer guidance and make sure tenants always know who to turn to.

They’ll also share information about events on your scheme, including upcoming maintenance, and community projects, helping you stay informed and involved.

Another key part of their role is to carry out home visits and tenancy audits. These help identify any issues early on, making it easier to resolve problems before they grow.

Anything that needs further follow-up is passed to the Neighbourhood Manager or the right team within Habinteg. They work closely with Habinteg’s surveyors, contractors, and other colleagues and professionals, to make sure tenants are happy in their homes.

Community support

If you need essential aids or adaptations, Neighbourhood Coordinators can help guide you through the process and speak with your local authority or other organisations to make sure the right support is in place.

They can assist you with any questions about your rent and can point you to the right Habinteg team - Rent Assist Team - if you need help to manage your payments. Rent Assist can advise on benefits and set up a repayment plan if you’re behind.

If you’re dealing with anti-social behaviour in your community, your Neighbourhood Coordinator can assess the situation and carry out any necessary investigations. They work closely with the police and local authorities to help resolve the issue.

Tenant events

Life on your scheme is more than just your home, and Neighbourhood Coordinators can help make it vibrant and welcoming.

They can organise events on your scheme such as afternoon teas and breakfast clubs, games or music sessions, and cultural activities.

These events are a great way to meet neighbours, get involved, and enjoy everything your community has to offer.

If you don’t know who your Neighbourhood Coordinator is or how to get in touch with them, please contact our Customer Services Team at Habinteg Direct on 0300 365 3100 or email them at direct@habinteg.org.uk .
