The good news is that there are organisations offering one-to-one support and advice about what you can do to manage your payments.
National charities
Turn2us helps people who are struggling financially with grants and advice. Complete their online form or use their search tool to find an adviser in your area.
StepChange offers a free and confidential advice and support service for as long as you need it if you have debt or are struggling to reach an agreement with your creditor. Start your online debt advice session at a time that suits you. Helpline: 0300 303 5300 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
National Debt Line has a cost-of-living hub that you can use to find out if you can pay less for your living costs and also learn if you can get extra help. They also have a helpful online budget tool.

Citizens Advice provides free energy advice and support.

For older people
Scope offers free energy and water advice to disabled people and has a service called Disability Energy Support to help you apply for support with bills. Helpline: 0808 801 0828 Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm and 10am to 6pm on weekends.
