We’re looking for three new tenants to join our Tenant Editorial Panel. Habinteg tenant Chris Hicken from Milton Keynes shares why he decided to become a panel member and why he thinks you should join him.

“Have you ever read Habinteg’s Update newsletter or seen an article on their website and wanted to change the type of stories Habinteg publishes?

Now’s your chance to join the Editorial Panel and have your say about Habinteg’s tenant communications, and in return, you'll feel like a valued member of the tenant community making a positive contribution for other tenants.

Who are the panel members?

The Editorial Panel is a group of tenants and staff who make sure Habinteg’s newsletter and other communications suit their needs.

The panel meets via Zoom about once every three months to discuss the upcoming editorial plan, what we would like to see more of, and the effectiveness of Habinteg’s messages in reaching our fellow tenants.  

And don’t worry if you’re not familiar with Zoom; Habinteg’s IT team will be able to help you get it working. It’s safe and will not affect your equipment.

Why I joined the panel

I joined the Editorial Panel after retiring from my job as an administrator, and although my body wasn’t working the way it had been for the past 60 years, my brain didn’t receive the memo. My brain still wanted to be actively involved in things, and I felt that what I could offer could still be helpful.

Panel members come from all different walks of life and have a range of skills and abilities. But what’s important is that we’re all Habinteg tenants, and we’re a voice that needs to be heard.

So, think about it, realise the value your input will have, and come and join us. You might even have fun!”
