At Habinteg, our Estate Management Policy ensures shared spaces on our schemes are well-kept and safe; to help create communities tenants are proud to call home.
This policy is about more than just repairs or gardening - it’s about Habinteg and tenants working together to ensure everyone feels comfortable and supported in their neighbourhood.
What the policy covers
The Estate Management Policy outlines how we care for shared outdoor spaces on schemes that everyone uses and benefits from, like:
Our team carries out scheme inspections at least four times a year to check these areas are clean, safe and in good condition. If something needs attention, like litter, graffiti or a broken light, we’ll arrange to get it fixed as quickly as possible.
We’ll also make sure things like salt bins are topped up in winter, that pests are dealt with properly, and that your scheme feels welcoming and well-kept all year round.
If you’d like to get involved, you can join us on these estate walkabouts. It’s a great way to share your views and help shape how your estate is managed.
How you can help
As your landlord, we take care of inspections, maintenance, and repairs, but we all play a big part in keeping your communities clean, safe, and friendly.
We want to make sure everyone enjoys living on their scheme, and you can help by keeping shared spaces clear, and ensure that corridors and exits aren’t blocked by bikes, prams, or rubbish.
If you spot something wrong or damaged, let us know so that we can sort it out.
It’s important to dispose of waste properly and let us know if you spot any fly-tipping. This helps keep the estate clean and safe for all tenants.
We welcome ideas that help to improve your scheme and community for everyone. If you’d like to add something to a communal area, like a bench or dustbin, please speak to us first to get permission.
By following the policy, and talking to us about any concerns or ideas, you help make your neighbourhood a better place to live, not just for you, but for your neighbours too.
