Scam alert: Watch out for scam calls about repairs to your home

A Hull tenant has reported receiving scam calls about repairs to their home.

Scam details

The caller did not give a company name. They asked about repairs at the tenant's property and asked the tenant to text them photos of the repairs, which they promised they would carry out.

The caller also asked the tenant for the name of their home insurer, and requested the tenant's age and date of birth.

This scam call was made from a Bolton phone number: 01204 200 289.

Our repairs process

Habinteg Housing Association will never call tenants and ask for personal information (name, age, birth date or address) or your insurer's details, in order to carry out a repair.

If you have logged a repair request with our Customer Services Team, our contractors will call you to arrange an appointment.

They will have a six-digit repair order number, which you can ask for. They may also want to confirm your address. Ask them to tell you what your address is.
