Regional tenant meeting update

Habinteg’s tenant involvement team ran seven regional meetings with tenants and staff during September and October.

What’s the purpose of regional tenant meetings?

The purpose of regional meetings are to:

• Review performance information

• Identify improvement priorities for the region

• Suggest ideas for ways to use the tenant-led improvement budget

• Develop regional plans

• Feedback and suggest ideas for customer engagement

• To hear the views of tenants in each region.

Common themes of the discussion

Many topics were discussed during the seven meetings.

The major themes we focused on were:

•  Contractor performance in the repairs service

•  Communal areas/ gardens improvements e.g. lighting/security/fly-tipping

•  Use of local community halls/spaces (for social purposes & meetings)

•  Communication (keeping tenants informed about repairs and end-to-end contact)

•  Promotion of regional tenant meetings to all tenants (finding the best name for the meetings, opportunities to send in questions before meetings, & promotional ideas)

•  Tenant-led Improvement budget, grants and hardship funds explained to tenants (local tenant representatives requested printed information on the grants available).

Staff are currently working on delivering all the actions from these meetings and we will be reporting back on this in the next newsletter.

Next meetings

The next set of meetings will be held in May 2023. These meetings are open to all tenants and we would be delighted to see you there.
