Local Tenant Representatives help shape your community

Have you ever thought about becoming a Habinteg tenant representative?

Local tenant representatives are tenants who help make sure the voices of all Habinteg tenants are heard in their community.

They work closely with Habinteg staff to improve neighbourhoods, influence decisions, and make the community a better place for everyone.

What the role involves

Tenant representatives play a key role in making sure tenants’ thoughts and feelings about Habinteg’s services and homes is heard.

Their role focuses on the needs of the whole community, and they act as a link between tenants and Habinteg.

They provide feedback on decisions that affect their scheme and help shape how improvement budgets are spent.

By working closely with staff and encouraging tenant involvement, representatives help create safer, better maintained, and more connected neighbourhoods.

Their main duties include:

  • Promoting tenant involvement opportunities and keeping everyone informed of key updates from Habinteg
  • Providing feedback on policies and decisions to make sure tenants’ priorities are considered
  • Taking part in inspections and highlighting repairs or improvements needed in communal areas
  • Encouraging tenants to get involved, share their views, and strengthening the community spirit
  • Raising tenants’ concerns and signposting tenants to support where needed
  • Helping to develop plans for your neighbourhood and guide how tenant-led improvement budgets are used to make improvements to their scheme.
