Improvements coming to over 500 tenants' homes

Habinteg is restarting its stock investment programme to upgrade key building components in over 500 properties.

The programme had to be put on hold due to the Covid-19 pandemic, so as we’re reaching the end of the Government’s road map out of lockdown and the easing of restrictions, we can now catch up on the delayed works we were unable to do last year.

Over the next 10 months, we’ll be replacing doors and windows and upgrading roofing, kitchens and bathrooms at the end of their lifecycle, in over 500 properties across the country.

We’re currently finalising our timetable and we’ll be sending a letter by the end of June to all households whose properties are on the list for work in both this and next year’s investment programme.

The letter will let you know what works are due to take place at your home and will give you an approximate timescale. We will work with you to agree a suitable date for the works and consider any particular arrangements needed to cater to your personal circumstances.

Michael Vickers, Head of Asset Management at Habinteg said: “We completed an extensive programme of surveys across all Habinteg properties in 2018. The survey looked at the condition of each property, its energy efficiency and crucially the level of accessibility. We used the results to develop a five-year plan to modernise aspects of older properties in line with current standards.

“We’re very happy to be able to start working on this five year plan again after being forced to put it on hold last year. We’ll keep tenants informed about what works are due, when they’ll be delivered and by who.
