The King’s coronation will be held on 6 May 2023 at Westminster Abbey, London, and you can get involved in the weekend long celebrations.
On Monday 8 May, The Big Help Out - a voluntary initiative supported by some of the UK’s biggest volunteer organisations, including the Scouts and the Royal Voluntary Service – will be encouraging people to volunteer, and lend a hand to give something back to your local charity or neighbourhood.
So, how are you going to celebrate in your area?
Big Lunch
If you’re on scheme and want to help your community come alive, you can organise a Big Lunch during the weekend in your home or garden.
Download your Big Lunch Packs to get some ideas on how to get started.
Please remember to let your tenant representative or Neighbourhood team know what you’re planning if you intend to use the community space.
Big Help Out
As the celebration weekend will end with the Big Help Out, plenty of activities will be organised by local charities, and you’re encouraged to volunteer if you can.
You might be doing anything from visiting someone who lives alone in your neighbourhood to doing a community clean-up activity or even organising a park run or walk to raise money for a good cause.
There’s lots of ideas on the Big Help Out website, and charities you can get involved with.
If you’re thinking of doing a group activity on scheme, please let your neighbourhood team know beforehand.
