Habinteg’s corporate strategy leads the way into the future

 

The key driver for our new customer-focused strategy, Towards 2026 (which we introduced in our summer edition of Update ) was the insight we gained from tenants and staff through the Shaping our Future consultation we ran in 2021.

Our new strategy sets out three themes for the next four years:

  • Customer Focus
  • Leading the Way and
  • Fit for the Future.
     

Customer focus

Your feedback was clear on the importance of improving our repairs service, improving the standard of some of our schemes and supporting communities affected by antisocial behaviour.

We also know that communicating more regularly with tenants - particularly about the progress of repairs or complaints – is really important to you.

And, because we understand that some of our tenants experience particular disadvantages, we're committed to looking for new ways to provide advice and support.

Leading the way

Habinteg has a strong reputation for leadership in designing and promoting accessible homes. July saw the government announce that all new homes will be accessible and adaptable, although the date for implementation has not yet been set.

We will continue our push for an adequate supply of accessible homes while using our own development program to demonstrate innovative new approaches.

The consultancy and training provided by Habinteg’s Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) extend the organisation’s help to make communities and society at large more inclusive so we’ll continue to grow this wide-reaching aspect of our work.

Fit for the future

If we're to deliver on these ambitions we need Habinteg to be fit for the future. Work is already underway to build a purposeful, positive, customer-service culture.

We want to ensure that everyone across Habinteg can take ownership and responsibility to make a positive difference in our tenants’ lives. 

Throughout this plan, we will ensure we get good value for money in all activities and make our business decisions based on excellent, reliable data.
