Energy Saving Week- save energy, save money

Energy bills are soaring and we are all looking for ways to reduce our costs. Energy Saving week is a reminder that there are ways we can reduce our energy usage and save a bit of money.

Start saving

The government website ‘Help for Households’ has helpful tips on how you can save energy and money including:

  • Turn down radiators in rooms you rarely used. This can save energy and save you up to £70 a year;
  • Turn off appliances when not in use to save energy and save up to £70 a year;
  • Washing your clothes at 30°C or 40°C saves energy and save you £40 a year;
  • If you have a combi boiler, turn down the flow temperature to 60 °C to save energy and up to £100 a year;
  • Using draught-excluders to stop heat escaping can help you reduce energy usage helping you save up to £60.
