Covid-19 spring booster vaccine coming soon

The spring 2023 Covid-19 booster vaccine will be available to people aged 75 years and older, care home residents and children over five with a weakened immune system.

The spring booster programme is being offered to ensure that the most vulnerable people are still protected against the Covid-19 virus, which is still infecting thousands every week.

The roll-out

More information on how the spring booster vaccine will be rolled out, will be provided by NHS England in the coming weeks and all those eligible will only be offered the booster vaccine if it’s been six months since their previous dose. Children aged five years and over with a weakened immune system will be offered a child’s dose of the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine.

End of programme

The spring booster programme will end on 30 June, as will the offer of a first and second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

If you have not yet had a first vaccine or a booster shot, this is your last chance to get one without having to pay for it.

More information on the spring booster programme can be found on the UK Govenrment website.
