Habinteg becomes a Disability Confident Leader
Habinteg Housing Association successfully gained their Disability Confident Leadership status in September 2023.
Disability Confident is a Government initiative designed to encourage employers to recruit and retain disabled people and those with health conditions.
Papworth Trust
As part of its Disability Confident strategy for this year, Papworth Trust embarked on the journey of becoming a validator – this means the Trust can validate other organisations’ applications to become a Disability Confident Leader.
Papworth Trust supported Habinteg in becoming a Disability Confident Leader as part of their first validation. It supports Papworth’s mission to promote Disability Confident and increase the number of Disability Confident Leaders across the country.
Inclusion is important
Nick Apetroaie, Habinteg’s Chief Executive, said: “We are very proud to be recognised as a Disability Confident Leader. Inclusivity is at the heart of what we do so achieving this standard is very important to us.
“Disability Confident Leader status demonstrates that we are committed and driven to recruit and retain disabled people within our teams. We value the skills that disabled people bring to our organisation; how their experiences can have a positive impact on our tenants and make Habinteg a better organisation to work for.”
