#ForAccessibleHomes week, Insight Group member Fleur Perry says ‘making do won't do’

If you don’t have room for equipment and furniture needed to rest, stretch, and take care of your body, you’ll be exhausted, and in pain. If you can’t find a safe place to live, you might find it harder to leave someone you need to live apart from. This is the reality for more than a million disabled people, and will be a reality for millions of others as they age.

Developing an accessible homes online search channel for disabled people

Tanvi Vyas, a Habinteg Insight Group member, has been a part of the project group to develop a new accessible homes online search channel. Notes from a small island of accessibility

R.Crusoe, a disabled person living in Greater Manchester, shares his experience living in an accessible home amongst a neighbourhood of inaccessible properties. He is also a member of Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People’s (GMCDP) Housing Working Group. GMCDP, is a ground-breaking organisation that over the last 35 years, has campaigned for disabled people’s full and equal inclusion within all aspects of society.
