Habinteg hosts HRH Princess Anne to celebrate 10th Anniversary of Bradford scheme

The Princess Royal returned to visit Eden Gardens and Wagtail Close, a Habinteg scheme in Bradford run in partnership with Bradford Adult Services, to celebrate their 10th anniversary. She toured the facilities and met the tenants whose lives and independence have been improved by the onsite training and support . The scheme was first opened by HRH Princess Anne in September 2001 when it was managed by Hanover Housing.

Habinteg Housing Association is aware of recent media reports concerning Habinteg Ulster Ltd.

The organisation concerned, Habinteg Ulster Ltd., is a completely separate legal entity from Habinteg in England and Wales. The two organisations were separately founded in the 1960s by the same group of individuals who at the time were involved in the charity that was then the Spastics Society.

All enquiries concerning Habinteg Ulster Ltd should be directed to their own offices.

Habinteg welcomes latest inclusive design ‘bright ideas’.

Inside Housing has reported on Northumbria University’s challenge to industrial design students to come up with ‘inclusive designs’ that facilitate independent living for disabled and older people. The judging panel included Alison Wright, Managing Director of Easy Living Home who won the UK Property Awards 2010 prize for her work with Habinteg on Westwood Park, and Wayne Hemmingway of Hemmingway Design, who is responding to the challenges of designing homes and spaces that are fit for purpose and useable.
