Habinteg’s communal rooms come in all different shapes and sizes, and if not managed safely, are vulnerable to the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).
The safety of our tenants is important to us, therefore before we officially reopen any communal room, our neighbourhood teams will carry out a Covid safe risk assessment.
We’ll also be consulting with Tenant Representatives and any relevant service providers first, in order to assess and determine that it is safe to re-open.
We’ll only re-open communal rooms once we are certain that it is safe to do so. You’ll start to see a gradual re-opening of these rooms over the coming weeks, and we aim to have all communal rooms safely reopened by 21st June 2021*.
Keeping you safe
We’ll establish the safe maximum capacity for all communal rooms, so that you can keep a safe social distance from other community members.
We’ll be displaying the maximum capacity for each room at its entrance, and we’ll be asking that you do not enter the room once maximum capacity is reached.
Where possible, we’ll also be using a one way system to help you maintain your social distance.
We’ll also be increasing ‘touch point’ cleaning – disinfecting key areas that are touched frequently like doorknobs, rails etc. – to ensure your safety.
Keeping each other safe
While Covid-19 transmission rates may have fallen, it’s important to remember that the virus is still circulating.
- keep communal areas well ventilated by opening windows and doors where possible
- maintain your social distance in communal areas and follow any guidance provided to maintain safety.
- NOT enter communal areas if you have Covid 19, have any symptoms or have been in contact with anyone suspected or diagnosed with Covid19.
Please contact Habinteg Direct on 0300 065 3100 if you have any questions or concerns about the re-opening of your communal room.
*A review will take place should any changes be made in line with new Government advice.
