Important post lockdown repairs update

As we begin to go out and about more after the restrictions lifted on 19 July, many people are being asked to isolate because they have been close to someone who has had a positive Covid test.

The ‘Ping’ that comes via the NHS test and trace app is triggered when the app knows a person has been within a certain physical distance of an infected individual. People are then asked to isolate to help prevent the spread of infection through the population. During this time they are not able to leave their home, including for work.

As a result of the large number of ‘pings’ happening at the moment many workplaces are short staffed. Unfortunately we know that this is already impacting on the contractors who carry out repairs on Habinteg properties.

How will we prioritise repairs?

We are staying in close contact with all our contractors to monitor their service. We have asked that when they are short staffed that they prioritise responsive repairs (the issues that you have reported to us) and that they keep to the contracted response time for Emergency and Urgent repairs.

Unfortunately we anticipate that some of our customers will inevitably experience delays with routine repairs and some planned upgrade work. It’s an unpredictable situation so we will keep individual tenants informed of any delay to work scheduled for their property.

What are we doing to keep our service running?

To help keep everyone safe, our scheme staff and contractors will continue to social distance and use masks and other PPE when working on site.

You can help by also continuing to maintain a social distance from staff and contractors when you see them where you live. This will help to minimise spread of the virus and also will help minimise the number of people who are asked to isolate.

It you have a repair or staff visit scheduled at your home it is really important that you let us know if anyone in your household tests positive for Covid-19 or if you are isolating due to other close contact. Doing this will help keep staff and contractors safe and will also help us keep the service running for all our customers by minimising periods of isolation. We will be more than happy to reschedule your appointment.
