Habinteg is participating in a Europe-wide study into the rights and free movement of disabled people within Europe (the LivingAll project). We are the only organisation within the U.K. who has received this invitation. A total of ten other organisations across Europe are taking part including Society of Social and Health Care in Spain, the National Association for the Accommodation of Disabled People in Belgium, the Vienna University of Technology in Austria, and the Urban Planning Institute in the Republic of Slovenia. There are other participating organisations from Italy and Norway.
A central organisation in Spain is co-ordinating the project which is funded by the European Commission.
We await the results with eagerness! There will be a Europe-wide report and separate articles reporting on the study findings relating to the UK. These will be available by mid 2009.
