Second Edition of the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide

Habinteg have now researched and published the second edition of the Wheelchair Housing Design Guide.

Working with wheelchair housing expert architect Stephen Thorpe, Habinteg has completely updated the guide to reflect the new level of statutory advancements and societal perceptions of wheelchair standard design in the built environment.

The guide will:

Provide design solutions and good practice examples of how to comply with the new building accessibility regulations set out in BS8300 and Part M.

Promote the long term cost and other benefits of designing to wheelchair accessibility standards.

Reflect and promote the values and principles of the existing strategies for social inclusion, Supporting People, the Disability Discrimination Act, and the increasingly important diversity agenda.
